Whats The Process for buying wholesale? 

Where to start:

How to place an order:

To place an order email thecalfinatedcow@gmail.com. We will need your name, address (for Home Meat Services records), email, and phone number. Please feel free to call or email us with any questions you may have.

After we take your order

We try to give you a date when it will go to the meat processor. When the animal is butchered, we give Home Meat Services of Shelton, WA your contact information. They call you directly to work out your preferred cuts of meat. Your beef will then dry-age in their climate controlled cooler for 10-14 days before being cut and wrapped. 

*Cutting, wrapping and freezing takes another 2-3 days, so your order will be ready for pickup about two weeks+ after the date the animal went to the processor.  


Once your order is complete:

You are responsible for picking up your meat at the processor in Shelton, WA. NO later than 4 DAYS after your order is completed. 

At that time,  you pay Home Meat Services for the processing.


We will send you information via email for the remaining balance owed to us for your beef.  


**Note: You may have to wait for beef orders depending on time of year and size of cattle. As with anything farm related, dates are subject to change

Ground beef, 45-55 lbs, 1 lb packages. 


  • Above figures are hanging weight values ONLY and DOES NOT include custom cutting and wrapping.

  • After cut and wrap there will be loss of weight due to moisture loss in the carcass and bones usually around 30%

  • Please remember the numbers of each item are estimates only, as the weight of each animal is different.

  You can customize orders with a purchase of a half or whole beef ONLY.

$125.00 Butcher Fee

$4.00/lb Hanging Weight

$.80-.90 cents/lb cutting and wrapping fee(depending on your packaging preferences)

Example: 1lb packages of hamburger are more expensive than 1.5-2lb packages, bone-in vs. bone-out.

Note: If you ordered a quarter of beef, what you will receive is commonly called a "split half". Because, the meat in the front half dramatically differs from the meat in the back half, we evenly divide the cuts between the two to make a fair offering. Many of our customers that don't want a large quantity of beef find people to split halves with. We do keep a list of people that are interested in smaller quantities and are looking for someone else to share with. 

Again, this only applies to quarter orders. If you ordered a half or whole beef, you won't have to split the cuts.
